WhatsApp has been testing its new storage management tool for a long time. Some beta users already have this feature. WABetaInfo first made this information public. With new storage management tools on WhatsApp, users can now easily identify files that take up more space. Apart from this, files can also be managed according to size. The option of preview before deleting the selected files is now in WhatsApp.
The new WhatsApp feature is still available in the ‘Storage and data’ option. But now it will be found under the ‘Manage storage’ option. Apart from this, there is also a new storage bar on which the main things like how much space has been taken by WhatsApp, how much storage has been consumed by other apps and items and how much space is left. When the storage is full, WhatsApp will also suggest emptying it with a warning.
WhatsApp will also show videos and photos that have been forwarded multiple times so that users can review and delete them. Apart from this, there is also a section which shows large files.
The current storage management on WhatsApp shows the storage consumed by the smallest file, starting with a large file. You can click on each file to see which file has taken up so much space. After that click on Manage and select the files that you want to delete. These files may contain photos, text, gifs, videos, etc.
