New Delhi. Android users need to be careful. Trend Micro’s new security research reveals that malware-loaded dropper apps are targeted at stealing your data including banking information, PINs, passwords and more. These apps can also intercept text messages on your mobile phone and infect it with dangerous malware. Apps that bypass Google Play Store security while carrying malware, leading to the dropper-as-a-service (DaaS) model, are thus called dropper apps. Security researchers at Trend Micro have revealed a list of 17 such apps that can be installed on your phone and steal your important data.

Last year, Trend Micro got a new dropper version, Dewdropper, which is available on the Google Play Store. These applications may still be there on your Android phone even if Google removed them from the Play Store and we recommend that you remove them immediately. Here is a list of these apps, which include Call Recorder APK, Rooster VPN, Super Cleaner- hyper & smart, Document Scanner – PDF Creator, Universal Saver Pro, Eagle photo editor, Call recorder pro+, Extra Cleaner, Crypto Utils, FixCleaner, Universal Saver Pro, Lucky Cleaner, Just In: Video Motion, Document Scanner PRO, Conquer Darkness, Simpli Cleaner and Unicc QR Scanner.

Google’s policy to ban copycat apps
According to the Google support page, apps that clone another app’s icon, logo, design or title will be banned from August 31. This also includes VPNs that use the “VPNService” class to track user data or redirect ads to generate “clicks”. But that’s just not what Google wants to do with Ads. The report further states that from September 30, Google will prevent developers from broadcasting a full-page ad in mobile games that can’t be turned off after 15 seconds and unexpected ads that appear during/before the loading screen, or in a mobile game. Appear before the new level starts. The game, however, will not be the case with the ads that are used to unlock the ads in the game.
