Vivek Agnihotri has done abominable act – Shashi Tharoor furious for raising Sunanda Pushkar’s name on Twitter

The Bollywood film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been well-liked. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film tells the story of the atrocities and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir Valley in 1990. Recently news came out that this film has been banned in Singapore. There this film has been banned saying that it is a provocative and one-sided film. Now former Union Minister and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted on this, then director Vivek Agnihotri has given him a very strict reply.

What did Shashi Tharoor write?
Sharing a news article on his Twitter handle, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor wrote, “The film The Kashmir Files, promoted by the ruling party of India, has been banned in Singapore.”

Vivek gave a very strict answer
In response to this, Vivek Agnihotri wrote that there are many such films which got worldwide appreciation but were banned in Singapore. He wrote, ‘Shashi Tharoor sir, for your information, let me tell you that Singapore has the strictest censor board in the world. He also banned ‘The Last Temptations of Jesus Christ’ (ask your madam). Even a film named ‘The Leela Hotel Files’ will be banned there. Please stop making fun of the genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar passed away under suspicious circumstances at The Leela Palace Hotel.

Vivek took Sunanda Pushkar’s name
Vivek Agnihotri did not stop here. He also asked Shashi Tharoor whether his wife Sunanda Pushkar was a Kashmiri Hindu or not. He wrote in his next tweet, ‘Shashi Tharoor, is it true that late Sunanda Pushkar was a Kashmiri Hindu? Is this screenshot true? If yes, then Hindus have respect for the dead man. You should delete your tweet and apologize to his soul.

Anupam Kher also expressed displeasure
Not only Vivek Agnihotri but the lead actor of ‘The Kashmir Files’ Anupam Kher has also expressed displeasure over Shashi’s tweet. He wrote, ‘Dear Shashi Tharoor, your harshness on the massacre of Kashmiri Hindus is sad. If nothing else, show some sympathy to Kashmiri Pandits, who were Kashmiris themselves, as Sunanda Pushkar. Don’t rejoice when The Kashmir Files is banned in any country.

Shashi Tharoor said – this is abominable work
In response to this, Shashi Tharoor has issued his statement, clarifying on his tweet. Shashi wrote, ‘I want to make it clear that I shared a factual news in the morning in which I did not comment on the film The Kashmir Files and I have not even seen it. I have in no way made fun of Kashmiri Pandits whose plight I am aware of and for which I have raised my voice many times in the past. Tossing the name of my late wife Sunanda Pushkar in the midst of all this is wrong and disgusting. No one knows more about his thoughts than me. I had accompanied him to see the remains of his ancestral home in Bomai village near Sopore and I spoke with him to his Kashmiri neighbors and friends, both Hindus and Muslims. One thing I do know is that people want to use his name when he is not even present to present his case. She believed in reconciliation, not hatred.’

Let us tell you that ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released on 11 March. The film was well received but a section also says that this film has been made to spread hatred towards Muslims and with a political mindset. Apart from Anupam Kher, actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi were also in the lead roles in the film.
