Film industry pays maximum tax
Talking about the budget to news agency ‘ANI’, filmmaker Ashok Pandit said, ‘Our industry is the biggest tax payer in this country. Film industry is the highest tax payer every year, but it is unfortunate that our entertainment industry has always been neglected by all the governments. The way other industries have been talked about in the budget, be it the textile industry, the soap industry or the health industry, nothing has been talked about about our industry.
The film industry was ignored!
Ashok Pandit, President, Film and Television Directors’ Association, further adds, ‘The way other industries are identified and discussed and the benefits of that industry are thought of, none about our entertainment industry. Thinking No one thinks how to save this industry, how to increase it. We are the biggest tax payers of this country. Even during the Kovid-19 pandemic, we have also entertained people sitting at home. Many people have been saved from becoming mentally ill because of us.
‘If the price is reduced, more and more people will watch the cinema’
According to the information, there is a huge difference in the ticket prices of single screen theaters and multiplexes. Similarly, if we talk about OTT platform, then its subscription rate is also very high. If these are reduced, then more and more people will be drawn towards films and everyone will benefit from it. However, these expectations were dashed in the budget.
