Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto was a personality whose life was full of contradictions. Saadat Hasan Manto was born on 11 May 1912 in Samrala, Punjab and spent his early life in Amritsar. When Manto came to Bollywood film
It is the year 1946, when director Datta Ram Pai was making a film called ‘Aath Din’. The entire command of this film was in the hands of actor Ashok Kumar. He was in charge of this film. The film had four important characters. The preparations for the film were going on in full swing but then an actor withdrew from the film. Then what.. Ashok Kumar got worried that how will he change at the last moment.

Then it happened that the scenes of this film were being written. Ashok Kumar went to him and said that you have to play a character in this film. But Manto quickly turned down this demand of Ashok Kumar and asked him how can I play the role of an actor.
