Claims made in ‘Runway 34’ are false: Federation
Captain Randhawa adds, “We all appreciate and enjoy the artistic license of a film director for entertainment purposes. But the way it has been shown and claimed to be professionalism among airline pilots in the name of an exciting story, it should not be considered right. Pilots fly thousands of flights every day carrying passengers responsibly and with complete safety.
‘Our zero tolerance policy on drugs’
The FIP has said in its statement that the federation rejects the claim of the film that it is based on a true incident. Emphasizing on this, the statement said, “We are saying this again that the character in the film does not represent our profession in a true and fair manner. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding narcotics in the industry. Our pilots adhere to the highest standards of professionalism to live up to the trust of their companies, aviation regulators and the public.’
‘What reality is the film talking about, do not know’
Ajay Devgan, Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh starrer ‘Runway 34’ has been released in cinemas this Friday. Pilot Federation said that we have no idea about what the film is showing and the reality it is talking about. There are over 8,000 pilots across the country who practice the highest possible standards of accountability, training and professionalism. This is rarely seen in any industry. Each pilot is responsible for millions of passengers and expensive equipment around the world.
