The legend of South Indian cinema is in the making, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ hits the theaters after much anticipation.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is a Brahmanda film directed by Mani Ratnam based on the famous historical novel by Kalki, the all-time legend of Tamil literature. Touted to be the biggest film venture in Indian cinema, the film will release in five languages. When the film hits the silver screen in two parts, the legendary characters will be played by the best actors not only in Tamil cinema but also in Indian cinema. Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Jayamravi, Karthi, Rahman, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Lal and others are lined up.

The film visualizes the ongoing crises and dangers faced by the Chola Emperor’s throne and the battles between the army, enemies and traitors. Produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, the film will hit the theaters on September 30. Distribution rights in Kerala Mr. Gokulam is for Gopalan’s Sri Gokulam Movies.
