Many people including fans have praised Rajini. Baba Re will release on Rajinikanth’s 72nd birthday on December 12. Baba was Rajini’s next film after the super hit Padayappa. Rajinikanth himself produced the film. But the film was a huge failure at the box office. As a producer, Rajini himself took the initiative to cover the losses incurred by the distributors and was much debated at that time. Rajinikanth himself wrote the story and screenplay for the film.

The music direction of Baba released in 2002 was done by AR Rahman. After Annamalai, Veera and Baasha, Suresh Krishna and Rajinikanth teamed up for Baba. The film was released by Lotus International. The songs of the film were also noted. Manisha Koirala was the heroine of the film. Amrish Puri and Ashish Vidyarthi also appeared in the lead roles in the film. After the massive failure of Baba, Rajinikanth took a short break from films.
He then made a grand comeback three years later with Chandramukhi. Meanwhile, before this, another Rajinikanth film has been remastered and hit the theaters.
