The best team comes together for Kamal Haasan’s 234th project. After the mega success of Vikram, it was announced that Kalahasan would be the lead, and the project being directed by Mani Ratnam. According to a new report from Kollywood, Jayamohan is preparing the story for this film. Kamala Haasan and Mani Ratnam are coming together after a gap of 35 years in this film. The last film where the two teamed up was the 1987 film Nayagaan with the story of an underworld leader named Velunaykar. AR for the new film. Music is composed by Rahman. The film is presented by actor and political activist Udayanidhi Stalin under the banner of Red Giant Movies. The film will hit the theaters in 2024.

This is the first time that Jayamohan, Kamala Haasan and Mani Ratnam are teaming up for a project. Kamal Haas’s next film is Indian 2 directed by Shankar. The film is being prepared as the second part of the 1996 film Indian. Jayamohan is also writing the big budget canvas film with a big star cast. Jayamohan wrote the Tamil dialogue while Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph made the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Drishythin titled ‘Papanasham’ starring Kamal Haasan.
The announcement of the new film came before Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan created ripples at the theatre. Mani Ratnam is currently working on the second part of Ponniyin Selvan. Jayamohan was the screenwriter along with Mani Ratnam when Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name was written by Drishya Bhasha. In 2013 Mani Ratnam’s film Kadal was written by Jayamohan. Kadalin Jayamohan and Mani Ratnam wrote the screenplay. After Kadal and Ponniyin Selvan two parts, Mani Ratnam and Jayamohan are teaming up again for a project with Kamal Haasan.

Jayamohan is a genius who has written both Malayalam and Tamil. Jayamohan’s writing prowess has already surprised the Malayalees through books like Nurusimhasanam and Anadoktor. Ezhutukan, which is the busiest in Tamil, had scripted a handful of films in Malayalam as well. Jayamohan’s Malayalam script writing surprised the audience in 2012 with the film Ekemuri directed by Madhupal. Later, he also came to the silver screen as a screenwriter for Malayalam films like Kanchi, One By Two, Naku Pente Naku Takka. Jagan Shaji Kailas, son of Malayalam hit maker Shaji Kailas, is preparing the screenplay for the first film directed by Jayamohan. Jagan is also directing a film in collaboration with Jayamohan and Asif Ali after Vacumuri.
