Mammootty and Ashokan are acting together in a movie after 30 years. Their last film together was Amaram released in 1991. In an interview to Mammootty Times, Ashok expressed his happiness of working with Megastar again.

Asokan said that Nanpakal Merakkam is very different from the films he has done so far. Mammootty will be seen in a role never seen before in the film. The story was written by Lijo Pellissery. The script and dialogues are written by Harish. The cinematographer of the film is Theni Ishwar, who has done cinematography for Peranp, Karnan and Puju. Mammootty will also be seen in the lead role in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s anthology film based on Netflix’s MT Vasudevan Nair stories.
