This silent film also comes from Tamil Nadu where many experimental films are made. Director Kishore Pandurang Belekar said that silence often works better than words and the film Gandhi Talks underlines that and the film discusses the flaws in the society. Kishore Pandurang Belekar is a director who is known for his Marathi films Saa Sasucha and Yeda.

Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Atidi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jathav appear in the teaser released on Gandhi Jananti. In the teaser, which is related to money and characters, AR recites the kirtan Raghavati Raghava Rajaram. Rahman also appears. A.R. Rahman is composing the music for the film. The director says that the film is an attempt to break all language barriers and bring the silent film era to the audience through satirical comedy and the film is a social commentary on the capitalist system, apartheid and society. Kishore Pandurang Belekar stated that he has been working on this film for 19 years and Gandhi Talks is dedicated to Dadasaheb Phalke and Indian cinema which has reached 108 years.
Vijay Sethupathi also opines that the film’s content is relevant to Gandhian views in contemporary Indian rupee times. The film is produced by Movie Mill Entertainment. Gandhi Talks is another mainstream Tamil film after the 1987 silent film Pushpakavimanam and directed by Singitham Srinivasa Rao starring Kamal Haasan.
