Renowned filmmaker Zhang Luc Godard, one of the masters of French nouveau cinema and the director and screenwriter of many remarkable films, has passed away. He was 91 years old. Godard emerged as one of the masters of French New Wave cinema in the 1960s with classics like Breathless and Contempt. He was born in a Franco-Swiss family in Paris on December 3, 1930, and entered the film industry by writing screenplays. Actor, critic, screenwriter, cinematographer, producer etc. has left his mark in all fields of cinema. He is hailed as the director who changed the course of world cinema itself.

Most of the early films were experimental based on crime themes. Many of them also focused on hypersexuality. . The first film was Breathless which was much appreciated. A Woman is a Woman was his first color film. He was active in the film industry for more than seven decades.

Over time, he became a part of films with left-wing political views. The movie Two or Three Things I Know About Her was part of this vision. After the French student riots, Godard’s films were on another level. He has made five short films since 1955. The first feature film was released in 1960. In 2018, he finally directed the film Good Bye Language.
