The offices are inspected by the TDS section of the Income Tax Department. Officials are examining recent deals and deals with manufacturers, according to a channel report quoting income tax sources.
The inspection is being carried out at the Ashirwad Films office under the control of Anthony Perumbavoor, Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames office and Anto Joseph’s office. According to the report, tax is being paid on OTD transactions as well. The quick scrutiny comes as more and more Malayalam movies are being released on ODT platforms in the backdrop of theaters being closed for a long time during the Kovid era. But officials have not visited any of the manufacturers’ homes.
