John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor, who are already working together in ‘Ek Villain 2’, have come together for another film from December this year. It is the Hindi remake of Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanam Koshiyum’. Its rights were with John Abraham. He will also act in the Hindi remake of the film. The role of Inspector Biju Menon played in the original film will be played by John Abraham in Hindi. Prithviraj’s role in the film was earlier with Abhishek Bachchan, but now Arjun Kapoor has been on board. Jaganshakti, who is directing the remake, has confirmed this. John Abraham himself was a fan of Jaganshakti’s ‘Mission Mangal’, as well as suggested Jagan’s name from his friend and producer Mahavir Jain from the industry. John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan had earlier worked together in ‘Dostana’. Jaganshakti himself was the assistant of R Balki on Abhishek’s film ‘Paa’.
Abhishek Bachchan has not been removed from the film at the behest of John
Rumors were hot in the media that Abhishek Bachchan was removed at the behest of John. But now it has proved to be baseless. In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Jaganshakti said, “Due to the pandemic, the dates of all the actors have been shaken. They all have a lot of prior commitments before starting a new project and the same was the case with Abhishek. He didn’t get enough time, so he couldn’t come up with this film because of that.”
Arjun to adjust film dates for December
Jaganshakti further adds, “Then we approached Arjun Kapoor. He too is busy with a lot of his projects. Still he is adjusting the dates for this film from this December. Interestingly, Arjun has to be himself as well. ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ is very much liked. He was also going to take the rights, but by then John Abraham had taken it. Still he is happy with it. For the first time he will be seen in the role of an egoistic person on screen.”
This film will be shot in Bihar and Jharkhand
Jaganshakti said, “While the original film’s backdrop was set in Kerala and Ooty, the remake is being set in Bihar and Jharkhand. That’s because long-talking chuckles and more talkative people are found in these states as well. The dialogues between John and Arjun in the film will be similar to that of Dilip Kumar and Rajkumar in ‘Saudagar’. Another interesting thing shared by John’s close friends is that he has lost weight these days. He was reduced to some extent to make him look like Biju John. Biju John’s height is tall, thin. This look of John is also working in ‘Ek Villain 2’, where he is in the role of a cab driver.”
