Hrithik was the first choice
Shah Rukh Khan may have won accolades as Don, but he was not the first choice for the character. Farhan wanted to cast Hrithik Roshan in this role.
During the shooting of Lakshya (2004), Farhan and Hrithik agreed that he would work together in the film, but when it came to the making of the film, Farhan felt that he would need a match actor in the role.
In this way, his search ended with Shah Rukh Khan, who was in the industry for a long time. However, Hrithik was seen in a special appearance in Don 2.
Actors learned martial arts
Shahrukh, Priyanka and Arjun Rampal participated in a special martial arts training program under the supervision of Shaolin Temple Experts for their respective roles in the film.
It was the fifth highest grossing film of 2006.
The film was a remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don whose story was written by Salim-Javed. Javed had helped in scripting son Farhan, who is remaking Don. The sequel Don 2, a remake of Don, was also released in 2011. Now makers are also planning to make Don 3.
