AR Rahman told singer Sukhwinder Singh after 13 years – Sorry! forgot to mention your name at the oscars

Music composer AR Rahman is famous not only in the Indian film industry but all over the world. Rahman has also received an Oscar Award and is considered one of the best music composers in the world. However, on the occasion of World Music Day, Rahman has regretted one thing that he did not give credit to singer Sukhwinder Singh for the song for which he won the Oscar.

AR Rahman has shared a video on YouTube which he has dedicated to singer Sukhwinder Singh. In this video, Rahman recalls his relationship with AR Rahman, about 25 years old. For the first time, AR Rahman and Sukhwinder Singh worked in the film ‘Takshak’. Later this song was changed and used as ‘Chaiya Chaiyya’ in the film ‘Dil Se’ which is still very popular today.

Much appreciated Sukhwinder
AR Rahman also gave music for the film Slumdog Millionaire. Its song Jai Ho got the Oscar for Best Song in the year 2009. Rahman said in the video, ‘When I thanked everyone during the Oscar Awards, I forgot the name of my singers because then many things were going on in my mind. I am thankful to Sukhwinder Singh who sang the main part of the song. Sukhwinder’s special voice took this song to the heights. There is no denying that I am thankful for his contentment, love and understanding of music.

Rahman further said, ‘Some artists have such an understanding that they bind themselves. You cannot draw any boundaries for such artists. Sukhwinder is one such artist. He does his work with full energy. AR Rahman received the Oscar Award in 2009 for the song ‘Jai Ho’. That year, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ won awards in several categories of Oscars.
