West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has called upon the government employees on hunger strike demanding a hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) to call off their agitation and seek a solution to the impasse by meeting all concerned. Employees of 18 organizations are demanding that their dearness allowance be increased to the level of central government employees. He had also called for a complete strike on Friday. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari urged the protesters to consider the governor’s request and call off their hunger strike.
