UPSC Main Exam Begins, Read Guidelines Before Going to Exam Hall

Union Public Service Commission from 16 September UPSC Civil Service Mains Exam has started. Mains exam will be conducted on September 16, 17, 18, 24 and 25 at exam centers set up across the country. UPSC Mains Admit Card has already been issued by UPSC on the official website upsc.gov.in. Candidates have the option to download their admit card till September 25. This day will be the last day of Mains exam. In such a situation, let us know about the schedule and guidelines of UPSC Mains Exam.

As per the schedule, UPSC Mains exam will be conducted in two sessions. The first session exam will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and the afternoon shift exam will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm.

  • Candidates will have to write their own papers on their own. They will not be allowed to bring a scribe (Paper Writing Assistant) for answer writing under any circumstances.
  • Candidates will be allowed to use Scientific (Non-Programmable Type) calculator in the conventional (essay) type exam of UPSC. Programmable type calculators will not be allowed to be carried to the examination centres. If a candidate uses such calculator, it will be treated as cheating.
  • Use of mobile phones (even if it is switched off), pagers, electronic devices, programmable devices, storage media like pen drives, smart watches etc. will not be allowed. In addition, cameras or Bluetooth devices or any other device that can be used for communication will not be allowed in the examination hall.
  • All the candidates appearing for the UPSC Mains exam are told to follow social distancing and use sanitisers.
