UP Higher Education: Order for investigation of private colleges withdrawn

UP Higher Education: Order for investigation of 7372 self-financed colleges across the state affiliated to 16 state universities, Director of Higher Education Prof. Brahmadev has canceled it. Pro. Brahmdev says that after receiving several complaints on the IGRS portal, on March 24, orders were given to investigate all the colleges. Thereafter, the officials of these universities had lodged oral objections. Universities say that there is interference in their field of work, so they have canceled their order on 25 March. However, universities have been asked to investigate at their own level.

Significantly, the director had constituted 16 committees for the investigation. The five-member committee has nine points – approval of the principal, professors and management from the university, attendance and salary payment register of the staff, class building, systematic laboratory and infrastructure of the college, fees received from students, attendance and attendance of students. The University affiliation of various courses was to be checked along with the status/correctness of the examination.
