UPSC success story: UPSC Civil Services Examination is considered to be one of the toughest examinations in India. Preparing for this exam is like chewing iron. Candidates have to work hard to become IAS, IPS and IFS. Most of the candidates appear for this exam after graduation and are successful in it after 2 to 3 attempts. At the same time, due to limited seats, only a few become IAS officers.
However, there are some candidates who choose IFS (Indian Foreign Service) instead of IAS (Indian Administrative Service) despite getting a good rank.
One such person is Vidushi Singh, who has cracked UPSC CSE 2022 with All India Rank 13. ​​She hails from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, but was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Vidushi had passed the high-profile exam in her first attempt at the age of 21. Vidushi did not take any coaching for the Civil Services Examination. He started preparing for UPSC in the year 2020 during his graduate level studies. He graduated in BA Honors (Economics) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University in the year 2021.
While he was pursuing his graduation, he read NCERT and other basic books. By reading these books his basic knowledge had become quite strong. Vidushi knew that it is very important to have basic knowledge in UPSC exam, so she took help from these books. After this he realized that he did not need coaching and focused entirely on self-study.
He had enrolled for several test series and mocks only from June 2021 to December 2021. So that they can prepare for UPSC.
She appeared for UPSC CSE 2022 exam and qualified in the final list with 1039 marks. He got 184 marks out of 275 in the interview round. Let us tell you, his optional subject in this examination was Economics. Let us tell you, this time he had secured 13th rank.
Why did you choose IFS option?
Vidushi said, since my beginning I have been very interested in international affairs. Since childhood, I used to play with Atlas. After which my interest gradually increased in international affairs. Then when I took Economics in college, I understood more about how many opportunities there are for an IFS officer in India. At the same time, he said, there are many such things in foreign policy, with the help of which development can be brought at the grassroots level.
Vidushi believes that success is primarily the result of hard work rather than luck. He has emphasized on working hard to create his own destiny.
