Started a company after leaving college, 19 year old boy became the country’s youngest rich in a year

At the age of 19, Kaivalya is the youngest person among the richest Indians. Kaivalya Vohra’s assets have been estimated at 1000 crores in the Hurun list. In this way he is in 1036th place. Aadit Palicha is ranked 950 and has a net worth of Rs 1200 crore. Earlier, both were included in the e-commerce category in Forbes magazine’s influential ’30 under 30 (Asia List)’.

It is worth noting here that both the young entrepreneurs are also the youngest start-up founders in the Hurun India Future Unicorn Index 2022. The inclusion of Vohra and Palicha in the list of India's richest people reflects the growing influence of startups in the country. Hurun India Rich List wrote, 'A teenager has debuted on the list. The youngest in this list is 19-year-old Kaivalya Vohra, who founded Zepto. 10 years ago, the youngest person in this list was 37 years old, whereas today it is 19 years old. This shows us the impact of the start-up revolution.

College dropouts are both entrepreneurs

Both Vohra and Palicha were students of Stanford University. Both dropped out from the computer science course and then moved on to entrepreneurship. Both the friends started Zepto in 2021 to meet the demand for quick and contactless delivery of essential goods during the pandemic days. Palicha started her entrepreneurship journey at the age of 17 when she founded a carpool service for students called GoPool in 2018. Prior to starting his startup, he was Project Lead with PryvaSee, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based project on Privacy Policy.

This is how the journey of Zepto started

Childhood friends Vohra and Palicha grew up in Dubai. He initially started a start-up named Kiranakart. This is an online platform that used to deliver ration items from local stores in Mumbai. This platform was operational from June 2020 to March 2021. The two then founded Zepto in April 2021 and raised $60 million in an initial funding round in November. In December, the quick grocery delivery platform raised $100 million with a valuation of $570 million. At the same time, in its latest funding round in May, Zepto has raised $ 200 million with a valuation of $ 900 million.
