Shaheed Diwas 2023 Speech: Today is the day to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs and bow down to them. Martyrs’ Day is celebrated every year on 23 March in the country. In fact, on March 23, three great patriots Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged. Respected Teachers, Principal Sir/Madam and Dear Colleagues,
Today is the day to remember the martyrdom of India’s great revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and bow down to them. Today, on Martyr’s Day, the whole country is saluting Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle. I thank all of you for giving me this opportunity to express my views. Comrades Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru shot dead a British police officer John Saunders in 1928. In this crime, on March 23, 1931, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh was hanged by the British along with his two companions Rajguru and Sukhdev. This is the reason why every year March 23 is celebrated as Martyrdom Day in the memory of these three martyrs.
Due to this martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, a tide of nationalism had come across the country. The freedom struggle became very intense. You can guess the popularity of these three from the fact that when these three were brought to the gallows, the jail was filled with ‘Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna Ab Hamare Dil Mein Hai…’, ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ and ‘Hindustan Azad Ho’. started echoing with the slogans of Other prisoners also started raising slogans.
Public anger increased after this incident. After 16 years i.e. on 15 August 1947, the British government had to leave India forever.
Friends, although there were many fighters in the freedom movement, but the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru cannot be forgotten. Bhagat Singh’s thoughts and personality inspire the youth even today. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were the true sons of Mother India, who gave more importance to their patriotism and patriotism than their lives and sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
