Private schools are not taking interest in registering on Gyandeep portal. Till now only 1245 private schools from across the state have registered on the Gyandeep portal. Whereas there are more than 20 thousand private schools. Talking about Patna district, there are around eight thousand private schools in the district, but only 160 schools have registered on the portal. Let us tell you that the Education Department has created Gyandeep Portal to provide funds to private schools under the Right to Education.
It is known that on this portal, every private school has to give complete information of every child enrolled under RTE. Information like name of the child, name of their parents, their residential address, when the child was enrolled, which class the child is currently in etc. will have to be given. For this, all private schools were asked to provide all the information on the portal in August itself. But private schools are hesitant in giving this information.
30th November is the last date. The Education Department has given a clear order to get the registration done on the Gyandeep portal by 30th November. Disciplinary action will be taken against schools that do not get registered. Besides, such schools will not be given funds under RTE. At the same time, a list of such schools will be sent to CBSE and ICSC which are violating the rule of admission on 25 percent reserved seats under the Right to Education.
Information about enrollment for five years has to be given. Private schools have to give information about admission for the last five years i.e. from 2019 to 2023. Especially the total enrollment in Class 1 in the school and how much admission was taken on the 25 percent reserved seats under the Right to Education.
Sometimes the server is down and sometimes they are making some excuse.
Private schools are making the excuse that sometimes the server is down and sometimes the information is not being submitted. We have appealed to the Education Department several times to avoid having to provide information. According to sources in the Education Department, most of the private schools have not taken admission under RTE. Even if the schools have taken it, they have not fulfilled the 25 percent quota. Nomination has been completed. Only three or four children have been enrolled. In such a situation, if these schools post enrollment information on the Gyandeep portal, their secrets will be exposed. Action can also be taken against them by the department.
Patna District Education Officer Amit Kumar It has been said that every private school has to be registered on the Gyandeep portal. Without registration, schools will not be able to get funds under RTE. How many children have schools enrolled since 2019? All the information will have to be given as to which class those children are studying in.
