Only orders every time in government schools of UP, no adjustment of surplus teachers for four years

Orders are being issued every year for surplus teachers of 2363 government schools of Uttar Pradesh, but adjustment has not been made in four years. Officials of the Secondary Education Department want to adjust the surplus teachers on the basis of student population, while teachers’ organizations are against the removal of teachers working on the created posts. Due to this dispute, adjustment has not been possible since 2018. Director Dr. Mahendra Dev has sought information about surplus teachers from all the district school inspectors and divisional joint education directors on September 5.

The director has asked for a report determining the teachers according to the number of students. Besides, instructions have been given to send the same in the prescribed format to the schools where there is immediate need of teachers and lecturers in proportion to the number of students. State General Secretary of Government Teachers Association BP Singh faction, Dr. Ravi Bhushan says that if a teacher is working on the post of his approved subject and students are enrolled in it, then it is not legal to declare him surplus after calculating the period. Approval for the posts of lecturer and assistant teacher in government schools is subject wise.

Three teachers on two posts in music and physical education
There are many schools where more teachers are employed than the sanctioned strength but no one pays attention to them. For example, in Government Inter College Prayagraj, two posts each for music and physical education subjects are sanctioned, but here three posts each for these subjects are posted. In this school of the district headquarters, female teachers have been posted irregularly in place of male teachers. Whereas in schools of rural areas, teachers are not posted after the posts become vacant.

Online deployment of 416 spokespersons soon

416 lecturers promoted from assistant teachers in government inter colleges will soon be deployed online. The work of feeding the vacant posts is going on on the NIC portal, after completion of which the posting will be done by taking options from the promoted lecturers. These assistant teachers were appointed from 2010-11 to 2018-19. Among these, maximum 109 teachers are of Hindi. 85 lecturers in Sanskrit, 57 in Economics, 51 in Civics and 46 lecturers in History will also be posted.
