The National Medical Commission (NMC) has taken a big decision to fill PG seats in the medical colleges of the country including the state. This time the pass percentile in the third phase has been reduced to zero. Many private medical colleges of the state will benefit from this, where seats used to remain vacant. Nomination is yet to be done for 192 seats in PG in Bihar.
Whereas in the last session, nomination could not be done on 18 seats. There are about 350 seats in PG here. In this, nomination is done for 50 seats under the central quota. The remaining 50 seats are filled through BCECE counselling. Here, if we look at the data of last three years in NEET PG, seats were continuously remaining vacant. The cutoff percentile is being reduced every year to fill seats.
This time the cut off was 291 marks out of 800 marks. This time, the minimum qualifying and eligibility criteria for NEET PG general and economically weaker sections was 50th percentile, while for general disabled, the percentile was fixed at 44. But now counseling will be held for the remaining seats.
The pass percentile for that has been reduced to zero. Students who qualify NEET PG get admission into MD, MS, DNB and Diploma courses. The cut off of NEET PG in the year 2023 for general category was 291 marks out of 800 marks. The qualifying cut off was around 36 percent marks.
