The Law Department of Mumbai University has issued a circular on Friday evening announcing the extension of LLM admissions till September 30, 2023. Earlier the last date of admission was 15 September. This decision has come as a relief to all the students who have been waiting for their revaluation results for more than two months.
The decision was announced on Friday after several students complained. Students say they will miss out on LLM admission through no fault of their own. On Friday, several students met officials at Mumbai University with a request for extension in LLM admissions. One of those students questioned the officials that my LLB result came on July 12 and I had applied for immediate revaluation on July 14. But the university has not declared the result yet. Why should I leave LLM admission because the university has delayed the result?
A total of 1,722 students had applied for revaluation. Of these, 764 students are still waiting for the result. According to the students, after the LLB result, there was enough time to apply for revaluation and get the result before the LLM admission starts. The student said, “But we were shocked to know that the university has not been able to announce the revaluation result for more than two months.
Former Mumbai University senate member Vaibhav Thorat, who had written to vice-chancellors with students’ requests, said, “Delay in results has become a regular occurrence in the university causing problems for students. It is really unfortunate that the university cannot declare the revaluation results in more than two months. Authorities need to work on resolving the situation.
