In this regard, the Education Department has issued guidelines to the Registrars of all universities and college principals. The department has also made it clear that action will be taken against those teachers who do not follow this order.
The department has said that information about the classes taken by teachers every day will be taken from the college principal. This information will be taken in the review meeting to be held through video conferencing between department officials and college principals. The Principal will tell which teachers have taken five classes and which have not. In this regard, departmental officials say that as per the provisions of the University Grants Commission (UGC), it has been made mandatory for teachers to stay in the institute for five hours every day. Under this, the department has made it mandatory to take five classes daily.
Assignments will be given to students who are on leave. The department has also directed that if any university and college student takes leave for more than three days, they will be given assignments. This could be any project. Assignment of book review and any article writing etc. can be given.

Recently, the process of recruitment of about one lakh teachers has been completed through BPSC in a very short time. The department is now preparing to regularize about 4 lakh employed teachers of the state so that the shortage of teachers in the state can be met.
