The world’s great scientist, Albert Einstein, had said about Gandhiji that, “The future generations will find it difficult to believe that such a person made of flesh and blood ever came to this earth.” Today, October 2, is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the great freedom fighter and most respected politician of the 19th century, with the same charismatic leadership and brilliant personality. The whole country is paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. Remembering their struggle for independence. Gandhiji had amazing leadership abilities. Gandhiji’s ideas inspired two generations of Indian patriots, as a result people continued to join the freedom struggle. He gave a tremendous edge to the freedom movement with his influential personality and ideas. Gandhiji was also strongly opposed to the evils prevalent in the society like untouchability, alcoholism, caste discrimination, inequality and discrimination against women. He not only fought for independence but also fought to improve the condition of Dalits in the society and to provide them equal rights. Dalit movement took place.
