Rambhajan Kumhar, resident of Bapi village of Rajasthan, did not have any permanent house in which he could live comfortably with his mother. Before passing the UPSC exam, he was living a very poor life. Let us tell you, he had secured 667th rank in the UPSC exam.

Rambhajan’s UPSC journey is no less than an inspiration. Despite coming from a poor family, he is now working in a government post. Before this he also worked as a daily wage labourer. He told in an interview that “Many years ago, as a child, he used to work as a daily wage laborer with his mother. His daily routine consisted of breaking stones for hours, while his mother carried heavy loads of stones. At that time, I used to earn only 5 to 10 rupees.”

Rambhajan’s life took a drastic turn when his father died of asthma during the COVID-19 pandemic. After his father’s departure, his family had to face financial crisis.

Let us tell you, till the year 2020, Rambhajan had given 6 attempts of UPSC. During these efforts, he got married, after which family responsibilities also came. In the year 2021, when his preparations were at their peak, his father passed away. After which he realized that he should leave UPSC.

At the same time, he controlled himself and did not give up. He took the UPSC exam in the year 2021 and failed. Even after this he did not stop. Now after seeing failure 7 times, he gave the UPSC exam in the year 2022 and achieved success this time. In his 8th attempt he had secured 667 rank in the examination.

Due to Rambhajan’s determination and hard work, he got a job as a constable in Delhi Police after many years of service.
