NEET counseling 2020: register for first round counseling from tomorrow

NEET counseling 2020: Medical Council Committee (MCC) will start the online registration process for first round NEET counseling from 27 October Tuesday. Candidates who have qualified NEET examination can register for online counseling before 2 November.

As per the schedule released by the MCC, the process of registration, fee payment and choice filling for the first round of NEET Counseling 2020 will be held from 27th to 2nd of November. The seat allotment result of the first round will be released on 5 November 2020. The process of second round counseling will take place from November 18 to November 22. The result of second round seat allotment will be released on 23 November.

The counseling schedule has been issued for admission to 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) and seats offered by Central and Deemed Universities, AIIMS and JIPMER. For seats with state quota, the schedule of NEET counseling will be issued by the concerned state authority.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had released the results of the Medical Entrance Examination National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on 16 October. This is the examination through which MBBS and BDS courses conducted in medical colleges of the country are admitted. A total of 56.44% of the candidates passed the examination this year. Odisha’s Shoaib Aftab topped the NEET exam this year. Akanksha Singh of Delhi finished second. Both Shoaib and Akanksha made history by achieving 99.99 percentile in NEET exam. Both scored 720 out of 720 in the exam.

The NEET exam was conducted across the country on September 13 in pen paper mode. A total of 15.97 lakh candidates had registered for this examination. Of these, 85 percent to 90 percent of the students had given the exam.
