Delhi University on Wednesday closed the application process for both the phases of admission to undergraduate programmes. Now the students are waiting for the first seat allocation list, which will be released on August 1. Let us tell you that around 2,45,239 candidates have applied in DU, last year only 1.7 lakh candidates had applied. After the introduction of Common Admission Test (CUET), B.Com continues to be the most preferred subject for students in the second year as well. About 72000 students have applied for this. After B.Com, students prefer English Honours, Political Science and History respectively.
The registrations for the Common Seat Allocation System ended on Wednesday. After receiving all the applications, it is learned that Kirori Mal College remains the first choice of the students for admission. 1,61,533 applied for this college followed by Hindu College and Hansraj College where 1,58,548 and 1,57,162 applicants applied. Talking about the board, 1,98,490 students of CBSE board and 9,143 students of CISCE are also included in the list of applicants. Let us tell you that this year DU has 78 programs in 68 colleges and around 70,000 seats are available for admission.
There have been three times more applications than seats in Delhi University’s undergraduate subjects. According to DU, 2, 45, 235 students applied under the Common Seat Allocation System 23.
