A 19-year-old girl from Chennai committed suicide in Ambattur, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Actually, S Anita National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) could not clear the exam. The result of NEET UG exam was released on Wednesday. A few hours after the announcement of the result, Anita took this big step. At the same time, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has met the family members of the student. She is in Tamil Nadu under Congress’ ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Rahul has expressed condolences to Anitha’s family by committing suicide after failing in NEET exam.
According to the information received, as soon as the news of Anitha's suicide was received, her family members took her to KMC Hospital in Chennai. But on reaching the hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead. Police have recovered the body and sent it for autopsy. From Tamil Nadu 1,32,167 candidates had registered for the NEET exam, out of which only 67,787 candidates were able to clear the exam. More than 18 lakh candidates had registered for the NEET UG exam this year.
Students committed suicide earlier also
It is worth noting here that this is not the first time in Tamil Nadu when a candidate preparing for NEET exam has committed suicide in the state. In July, a day before the exam, a girl committed suicide in Ariyalur in the state. Police have recovered a suicide note from the spot, in which the girl had said that she was afraid that she might fail in the exam. Because of this he has taken such a big step.
In another case, an 18-year-old student committed suicide in early July. The police recovered a suicide note from the hostel room of the student who committed suicide. The student had written in his suicide note that the NEET exam was very tough and he failed to score the marks set by him.
