Central University Bill passed in Lok Sabha, Education Minister gave information

The Central Universities Amendment Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has introduced this bill in the Lok Sabha. The Bill amends the Central Universities Act, 2009, which provides central university Provides installation. Also, the purpose of this bill is to declare the National Rail and Transport Institute (NRTI) as Gati Shakti University. The Central Universities Act was passed in the year 2009. Under this, provisions have been made to set up Central Universities in different states of the country and take decisions related to it. The Central Government is now clearing the way for making Gati Shakti University by amending this law.

Education Minister introduced the bill

Let us tell you that recently the Railway University located in Vadodara, Gujarat has been given the status of Central University by the Union Cabinet. During this, Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed that now the name of Railway University has been changed to Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.

What is Central University Bill?

Under this bill, a target has been set to increase the scope of the Central University. Earlier it was limited to railway matters, but now it is being extended to the entire transport sector. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said in the Lok Sabha that in view of the development of infrastructure in the country and the need to create a multidisciplinary knowledge network at the global level, work is being done to establish a central university in the field of transport.
