CBSE Schools: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular to all its schools to strictly follow the academic calendar. CBSE has asked schools not to start the academic session before April 1 every year.
CBSE Board said that some schools have started their academic session a little earlier.
The CBSE board, in its notice, said that trying to charge an entire year’s worth of coursework in one coursework may shock the students. Students will struggle to pay attention to studies along with other important tasks for this which will lead to stress and problems in students.
The board further said that little or no time will be available for extracurricular activities such as life skills, value education, health and physical education, work education and community service. These activities are as important in the life of the students as the courses covered in the class.
Keeping this in mind, the principals and heads of CBSE affiliated schools are advised to avoid starting the new academic session before April 1 every year. As per the academic calendar, there is one session from 1st April to 31st March.
