Big decision of UPPSC: 75% marks of screening exam will be added in direct recruitment.

UPPSC: Now in the direct recruitment of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, selection will be based on 75 percent marks of screening examination and 25 percent marks of interview. Considering sympathetically the long standing demand of the competitive students, Commission Chairman Sanjay Shrinet has taken this decision. This system has been implemented with immediate effect. This rule will remain applicable in the selection process for more than 90 percent of Group ‘B Gazetted posts, except for some posts with specific qualifications.

Earlier, in direct recruitment, selection was based on 100 percent marks of interview. When the number of applicants was high, a screening test was conducted, but its marks were not added. Some competitive students were also demanding addition of screening marks, alleging discrimination in the interview. This rule will also be applicable in the recruitment of Assistant Professors of Government Degree Colleges.

Till now, recruitment of Assistant Professors in non-government aided colleges was done through written examination and interview by Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission. Whereas the selection in Government Degree College by UPPSC was done on the basis of screening examination and interview. Now this decision will bring uniformity in both the recruitments.

Two members and experts each in the interview board

The interview board for direct recruitment will have two members and experts each. Earlier one member and one expert used to conduct interviews. This decision has been taken with the aim of maintaining purity and transparency in the selection process of the Commission. Even before this, Commission Chairman Sanjay Shrinet has taken many important decisions to make the interview process transparent.

Let us tell you, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is organized for entry level appointments in various civil services in the state. Through this recruitment examination, candidates are selected for higher posts like SDM, DSP, ARTO, BDO.
