401 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools are going to be opened soon in the country, for which the Center has approved the recruitment of 38 thousand teachers and employees. Union Tribal Welfare Minister Arjun Munda said this at the inauguration of the National Cultural Festival of Eklavya Model Residential School organized at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Doon on Tuesday.
The Union Minister said that the government wants to advance the tribal children in every field from education to employment. Such events are being organized for this. Children will get to learn a lot from this. There is a plan to promote at least four sports in every school. Earlier, Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal along with Union Minister Munda formally inaugurated the program. After this, there were many presentations of various folk dances and songs of Uttarakhand. From Wednesday, there will be many competitions including song, dance, drama, painting and essay for about two thousand tribal children from across the country. Chief Minister Dhami said that currently four Eklavya Model Residential Schools are running in the state. In these, work is being done for the all-round development of children in every field including studies, sports, employment.
Union Minister Munda said that when these schools are in the name of Eklavya, it is not possible that the sport of archery should not be played in these schools.
He said that archery has always been there in the tribal area. In such a situation, the game of archery is being made mandatory in all 701 Eklavya schools of the country.
