A Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on Monday. Superintendent of Police Girija Shankar Jaiswal said that the encounter took place at around 1.30 am near a bridge in the forest, about six kilometers from Bharanda police station, when a team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on a search operation. After the firing stopped, the body of a Naxalite and a gun were recovered from the spot, he said.

Several explosive items recovered on the spot
Apart from this, a huge quantity of explosives belonging to the Maoists have also been recovered from the encounter site. The search operation is going on in the area.
Last week also six naxalites killed
With this action, six more Naxalites have been killed in four separate encounters between Maoists and security forces in the state’s Bastar region in the last one week.
