What is UPI 

According to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), UPI i.e. Unified Payments Interface has become an integral part of our lives. Through UPI, sitting at home, people are able to transfer money from one account to another through mobile number only. Recently, UPI has got permission to transfer international money. The same State Bank of India (SBI Bank), the largest private sector bank HDFC Bank (HDFC Bank) and ICICI Bank (ICICI Bank) including other banks have fixed the UPI payment limit. Means you cannot do UPI transaction of more than this amount in a day.

Option to add multiple accounts 

You can easily add your multiple banking accounts in UPI through a single mobile app. The person to whom you want to send money. You can send money easily by just entering his mobile number and entering your UPI PIN. Through UPI, any person can transfer up to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh from his account in 1 day. However, this limit varies from bank to bank. Google Pay has released the complete list of UPI limits of major banks in the country. 

Check UPI limits of banks on Google Pay

  • The UPI transaction limit in State Bank of India (SBI Bank) is Rs 1 lakh.
  • The UPI transaction limit in HDFC Bank has been fixed at Rs 1 lakh. Whereas for new customers this limit is Rs.5000 on the first day.
  • ICICI Bank customers can do UPI transactions up to Rs 10,000, but for Google Pay users this limit has been fixed at Rs 25,000.
  • Axis Bank caps UPI transaction limit at Rs 1 lakh.
  • Bank of Baroda caps UPI transaction limit at Rs 25,000.
