AC-3 Economy Fare Reduced: Railways has reduced the fare of AC-3 economy class, as well as the arrangement of bedding roll will be applicable as before. Now traveling in the AC three economy coach of the train has become cheaper again. According to the circular issued by the Railway Board, it has been decided to restore the old system.
The decision comes into force from today
This decision has come into force from Wednesday. According to railway officials, as per the decision, passengers who have booked tickets online and over the counter will be refunded the extra money for pre-booked tickets.
AC-3 economy class fares reduced from normal AC-3
According to the new order, this fare of economy class seat has been reduced from the normal AC-3. However, last year the Railway Board had issued a circular, in which the fare of AC 3 economy coach and AC 3 coach was made equal. According to the new circular, along with the reduction in the fare, the system of providing blankets and sheets in the economy coach will continue to be applicable.

Actually Economy AC-3 coach is cheap air conditioner rail travel service. Economy AC-3 coach was introduced to provide ‘best and cheapest AC travel’ to sleeper class passengers. The fare of these coaches is 6-7 per cent less than the normal AC-3 service.
The number of berths in AC 3 economy is 80
According to railway officials, the number of berths in AC three coaches is 72, while the number of berths in AC three economy is 80. This is possible because the berth width of AC 3 economy coach is slightly less than that of AC 3 coach. This is the reason why the Railways had earned Rs 231 crore in the first year itself from the ‘economy’ AC-3 coach. According to statistics, only during April-August, 2022, 15 lakh people traveled by this economy coach and it earned Rs 177 crore.
Railways earnings not affected
It is also clear from this that the introduction of these coaches did not affect the earnings from the general AC-3 class. That’s why the railways has now reduced the AC 3 economy fare further.
