PM Kisan Yojana: Preparation to give gift to farmers before 2024 Lok Sabha elections!  Possible increase in the amount of PM Kisan Samman Yojana

PM Kisan Samman Yojana: Modi government at the Center can open its treasury for farmers before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It can announce increase of Rs. 6000 to Rs. 8,000 given to small farmers in three installments annually under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana so that the vote bank of the farmers can be strengthened in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

Gift to farmers before Lok Sabha elections 

According to Bloomberg report, the central government is considering increasing the amount of Rs 6,000 given annually to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana to Rs 8,000. Two officials who have been involved in the discussions regarding this issue have given this information on the condition of not disclosing their names. If this scheme is approved, then the government will have to spend an additional amount of Rs 20,000 crore on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana which has been allocated for the Rs 60,000 crore program in the current financial year 2023-24. The Finance Ministry spokeswoman refused to comment on the matter. 

Announcement possible in the interim budget 

On February 1, 2024, Modi government will present the interim budget before the Lok Sabha elections. It is believed that the decision to increase the amount given to farmers under PM Kisan Samman Yojana can be taken in the interim budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim budget, regarding which the Finance Ministry has also started consultations with different ministries and departments.   

The scheme had electoral benefits in 2019 

Let us tell you that in the budget presented on February 1, 2019, before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal had announced the launch of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana. The scheme was implemented from December 2018 itself. Came back to power under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
