Mutual Fund Inflows: There has been a 30 percent decrease in investment in equity mutual funds in the month of September. There has been an investment of Rs 14091.26 crore in open ended equity mutual funds in September 2023, which was Rs 20,245.26 crore in August 2023. Association of Mutual Funds e India (AMFI) has released this data. At the same time, investment in mutual funds through Systematic Investment Plan has crossed its historical record high of Rs 16,000 crore.
According to AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds in India), there has been an increase in net inflows into equity funds for 31 consecutive months since March 2021. In the month of September, except large cap funds and ELSS, investment in most of the funds has increased. The maximum investment of Rs 3146 crore has come in equity mutual funds of sectoral or thematic category. At second place are small cap funds in which investment has continuously increased. Investments worth Rs 2678.47 crore have come in small cap funds. However, this is less than the inflow of Rs 4264.82 crore in August. According to AMFI, there has been investment of Rs 2234.52 crore in multicap funds, Rs 2000.88 crore in mid cap funds and Rs 1353.91 crore in flexi cap funds.
Amfi said that the investment made through systematic investment plans has crossed Rs 16,000 crore for the first time in a single month in the month of September. In the month of August, investment of Rs 15,245 crore came through SIP. Awareness about investing in the market through SIP has increased among small investors. In the month of September, mutual funds have raised Rs 7795 crore through 16 New Fund Offerings (NFO).
The AUM (Asset Under Management) of the mutual funds industry has increased to Rs 46.58 lakh crore by 30 September 2023. In which equity AUM has reached Rs 19.08 lakh crore which was Rs 18.6 lakh crore in the last month.
