MGNREGA Wage Hike: MNREGA workers got a gift, the rate of wages increased, know how much you will get in your state

MGNREGA New Wage: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s (PM Narendra Modi) central government has given a wonderful gift to the rural laborers across the country. Rural laborers will now start getting more wages in just a few days. However, the rate of daily wages (MGNREGA Wage Rate) has been increased in different states by different amounts.

Will be applicable from next month

Ministry of Rural Development Under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, a notification was issued on March 24 regarding the change in wage rates. Now the increased rates of MNREGA have been notified for the next financial year i.e. 2023-24. This means that under the MNREGA scheme, rural laborers will get more money from 01 April 2023.

Highest rate in this state

After the change in MNREGA rates, now the daily wage in Haryana Wages have gone up to the highest of Rs 357, while Chhattisgarh is at the bottom with wages of Rs 221 per day. The central government has the right to change the wage rates of the scheme under section 6(1) of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. The government has used this right.

From next month, MNREGA rates have been increased from Rs 07 to Rs 26, depending on the states . Comparing the old rates and the new rates, Rajasthan has seen the maximum increase of 10.38 per cent. The existing rate of MGNREGA in Rajasthan is Rs 231 per day, which will now increase to Rs 255 per day from April 01.

The lowest increase in these states

Similarly Bihar and Jharkhand There has been an increase of about 8-8 per cent in the rates. In both these states, the daily wage of MNREGA is Rs 210, which has been increased to Rs 228. For Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the MNREGA rates have increased by a little over 8 percent. Earlier the daily wage in these two states was Rs 204, which has been increased by Rs 17 to Rs 221. In terms of percentage, Karnataka, Goa, Meghalaya and Manipur have seen the least increase of about 2% each. This scheme was started in the year 2006 to guarantee employment. The objective of this scheme is to guarantee at least 100 days of work in a financial year to unskilled laborers in rural areas, so that the income from this can improve the standard of living of poor rural families. This scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development has been appreciated by many international schemes.
