Mega Textile Plants: Government going to provide 20 lakh jobs! 7 new mega textile plants will be set up in these states

Seven Textile PLants in India: Under Make in India, the central government has announced plans to set up seven textile plants in the country. Under Pradhan Mantri Mitra Yojana, these seven plants will be set up in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The central government says that this business will provide employment to 20 lakh people. 

The PM Mitra scheme was launched in October 2021 with an outlay of Rs 4,445 crore and the initial allocation for the project in the 2023-24 budget is Rs 200 crore. On March 17, PM Modi had said that PM will provide an infrastructure to the textile sector. 

Plan to create 20 lakh jobs 

He had said that with the investment of crores of rupees in this, lakhs of jobs would be created. This is a great example of Make in India and Make for the world. Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that under this there is a plan to invest Rs 70 thousand crore and a target has been set to create 20 lakh jobs. 

Selection of sites done in a transparent manner 

ANI quoted the minister as saying that the textile industry has remained unorganized in the country. This increased expenditure and logistics cost has affected the textile sector of the country. The minister said that this command of the Prime Minister will solve many problems. Talking about the merit of the chair of the seven sites, Textiles Secretary Rachna Shah said that her ministry has selected the sites in a transparent manner after considering 18 proposals from 13 states. 

The road will not be easy 

After the selection of these sites connectivity, existing ecosystem, textile, industry policy, infrastructure, utility service and other problems will be rectified. Apart from this, PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan will be utilized for multi-modal connectivity. PM Mitra Park Yojana is a unique model that involves collaboration between the Central and State Governments to increase investment, promote innovation, generate employment and ultimately transform India into an important hub for textile production and export.
