Hydrogen Production: Ambani and Adani will clash again, 21 more companies in the race, the race for hydrogen plant becomes interesting

Hydrogen Production in India: The Government of India has decided to increase electrolyzer production to promote hydrogen production in the country. For this, bids were recently invited for a 1.5 gigawatt capacity plant. Tremendous enthusiasm has been seen among businessmen regarding this scheme. According to the information, 21 companies have bid for this plant. The interesting thing is that Ambani and Adani have also bid. Due to this, it will be interesting to see who gets this plant after the presence of leading businessmen of the country in this deal. 

Rs 19744 crore were given for Green Hydrogen Mission

Big companies like Reliance Electrolyzer, Adani New Industries, L&T Electrolyzer and Bharat Heavy Electricals have joined the race for the plant. Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) had invited bids for this plant on July 7. The government has announced production link grant for this plant. The government had given Rs 19744 crore for the National Green Hydrogen Mission in January 2023. This money is to be used in the production of clean energy. 

SECI had invited bids

Reliance Industries and Adani Group have come forward many times before. Electrolyzer is a very important thing in hydrogen production. On July 10, government company SECI had also invited bids for setting up a plant to produce 4.5 lakh tonnes of green hydrogen. These bids were invited under the Strategic Intervention for Green Hydrogen Transition Scheme (SIGHT). According to SECI, 21 companies have bid for 3.4 GW production more than the 1.5 GW annual offer.  

These companies also played bets 

Apart from Ambani-Adani, Hild Electric Pvt., Ohmium Operations, John Cockerill Greenco Hydrogen Solutions, Vari Energies, Jindal India, Avada Electrolyzer, Green H2 Network India, Advaita Infratech, ACME Cleantech Solutions, Oriana Power, Matrix Gas and Renewables are included under the scheme. , HHP Seven, HomiHydrogen, Nutrace, C Doctor & Company, Pratishna Engineers and Livhay Energy have applied.

Apart from this, 14 companies have applied for the production of 5.53 lakh tonnes of green hydrogen capacity, whereas bids were invited for the capacity of 4.5 lakh tonnes only. Among these, big companies like Torrent Power, Reliance Green Hydrogen and Bharat Petroleum have placed bets.
