Budget 2024: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday presented the interim budget for the financial year 2024-25. Keeping this interim budget limited, the Finance Minister said that the government will make a plan to make major changes in the existing hospitals. Apart from making these hospitals modern, they will also be equipped with all facilities. Apart from this, it has also been announced to open new medical colleges in the country. This will go a long way in removing the shortage of doctors in the country. For this, the Central Government also announced the formation of a committee for a detailed study. 

Plans will be made for the care of mother and child 

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during the budget speech that the government will start a vaccination program for girls aged 9 to 14 years to prevent cervical cancer. Apart from this, various schemes will be brought for the care of mother and child. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is committed to providing adequate health facilities to women and children. 

New medical colleges will fulfill the youth's dream of becoming doctors

Finance Minister Sitharaman said that many youth dream of becoming doctors. But due to less seats, they do not get a chance to become doctors. Therefore, the government has decided to open new medical colleges in the country. This will not only fulfill the dreams of the youth but will also remove the shortage of doctors in the country. Apart from this, the infrastructure of existing hospitals will be improved. With its help, good medical facilities can be provided to the people of the country. He said that a committee will be formed to study the issues related to this and make recommendations.

ASHA and Anganwadi workers will get the benefits of Ayushman Bharat 

Finance Minister Sitharaman said during the budget speech that the U-WIN platform will be launched rapidly across the country to speed up vaccination under Mission Indradhanush. Anganwadi centers will be developed under Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0 for better nutrition delivery, child care and development. Also, all Asha and Anganwadi workers and helpers will be given the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
