Dhanteras 2023: On the occasion of Dhanteras, there is an amazing glow in the markets across the country. There is enthusiasm in the markets for the five-day long lamp festival that started from Dhanteras. So according to the Traders Federation, a business of more than Rs 50,000 crore has been seen across the country on Dhanteras. In which people have purchased gold or jewelery worth Rs 27,000 crore.
Gold and silver worth Rs 30,000 crore sold
National President of All India Jewelers and Goldsmiths Federation, Pankaj Arora said that on Dhanteras, there has been a business of gold, silver and other precious items worth about Rs 30,000 crore. The sales figure of gold and gold jewelery was Rs 27,000 crore. Silver or its articles worth around Rs 3,000 crore have been sold. Last year in 2022, Dhanteras gold and silver business worth Rs 25,000 crore was done.
Sale of 41 tons of gold
In 2022, the price of gold was Rs 52000 per 10 grams whereas at that time it was available at Rs 62000 per 10 grams. Silver was sold at a price of Rs 58,000 per kg on last Diwali, which is now at Rs 72,000 per kg this year. According to an estimate, today on Dhanteras, about 41 tonnes of gold and about 400 tonnes of silver jewelery and coins have been sold in the country.
Business worth Rs 50,000 crore across the country
According to an estimate by the Traders Federation Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), on the occasion of Dhanteras, there has been a trade of more than Rs 50 thousand crore across the country, while in the capital Delhi alone there has been a trade of more than Rs 5,000 crore.  National General Secretary of CAT, Praveen Khandelwal said that there is a wonderful glow in the markets and people are buying idols or pictures of Shri Ganesh ji, Shri Lakshmi ji, Shri Kuber ji along with gold and silver. It is considered auspicious to buy broom along with utensils, kitchen appliances, electronic items and hence there is a huge demand for it. Earthen lamps, bandanwar, home and office decoration items, furnishing fabric, Diwali puja materials are also being sold for Diwali.
