CAT has demanded action against Bigby from the Central Consumer Protection Authority under Section 2 (47) of the Consumer Protection Act. CAT’s National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal has said in the complaint filed in CCPA that under Section 2(47) Flipkart has misled the public about the mobile price through Amitabh Bachchan (endorser).

CAT has demanded the Central Consumer Protection Authority to immediately ban this advertisement so that the offline retail traders of the country can be saved from the loss caused by the advertisement. Confederation of All India Traders has requested CCPA to impose penalty on Flipkart and Amitabh Bachchan.
CAT said that Amitabh Bachchan has misled people by supporting Flipkart’s misleading claim that deals and discounts on mobile phones are not available in offline stores and are available only on Flipkart. Praveen Khandelwal said that the entire business community is very angry with Amitabh Bachchan for his advertisement.
