Amazon will shut down another famous service in India on December 29, second big blow to customers in two days

Nothing is going well with Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company. After laying off 10,000 employees globally last week, Amazon is now shutting down many of its businesses in India. Only yesterday the company had announced the closure of its EdTech business in India. At the same time, the company has decided to discontinue its food delivery service.

According to the news published in an English newspaper, Amazon has informed its restaurant partners about the closure of the service. The company has told the restaurant that from December 29, Amazon will stop its food delivery service. Let us tell you that during the Corona lockdown, Amazon started its food delivery service in May 2020.

Emails to restaurants

Amazon was running its food delivery service in different cities of India for the last two and a half years. Meanwhile, on Friday, Amazon has sent an email to its restaurant partners informing them about winding up the business. Amazon said in this mail, ‘After December 29, you will no longer receive orders from customers through Amazon Food. However, you will continue to receive orders till the last date and we hope that you will continue to fulfill those orders.

The restaurant will have access till January 31

Amazon may be shutting down its service from December 29, but restaurants will be able to access Amazon’s tools and reports until January 31, 2023. Amazon has told restaurant partners that it will definitely honor their payments and other contracts. The company will provide support till March 31 for any compliance issues.

‘Amazon Academy’ will be closed in India

American giant Amazon is currently going through huge losses in many of its verticals. Meanwhile, Amazon has said that it is going to shut down its online learning vertical ‘Amazon Academy’ in India. Amazon had started the Amazon Academy of 2021 only last year. Amazon provides virtual coaching and ‘test preparation’ tools for entrance exams such as IIT-JEE and NEET on its platform. The company will phase out its Amazon Academy by August 2023.
