Stolen bike from Bihar used to smuggle liquor in Bengal, Katihar police arrested

Katihar: Bihar Police has exposed the gang of bike thieves. Katihar’s Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar has disclosed this bike thief gang during the press conference held at Nagar police station. Said that bike theft incidents were being carried out in many parts of the city for several days. Meanwhile, information was received that the stolen bike was being bought and sold at Durga place in Katihar. On this information, a team was formed under the leadership of City Police Station President Raghavendra Singh and raids were conducted. On behalf of the raiding team, two thieves including a stolen glamor bike were arrested red-handed while buying and selling stolen bike in Durgasthan premises.

On the basis of this, case number 802/2022 was registered. On the basis of statement of the arrested accused Kinnu Kumar confessing to the crime, raids were conducted by the police at various locations located at Bhediya Rahika, Shamsherganj, Gedabari, Musapur and Teja Tola. In this raid, stolen motorcycles were recovered in the police station areas of Nagar, Sahayak, Katihar Rail, Puthia etc. Eight criminals involved in this case were also arrested.

Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar said that when the arrested accused were interrogated, they told that these people do Reiki after going to the bike rider parking in the crowded areas of the city. He takes the bike complete, which he sells for ₹ 5000 to ₹ 10000. Not only this, these vicious thieves completely change the number plate and chassis number and also send the stolen bike to Bengal.

He said that they also do the work of smuggling liquor from Bengal through this stolen bike. Katihar Superintendent of Police said that the arrested bike criminal has a criminal history in many cases. He said that there could be more members of the bike thief gang, for which the police is taking further action.
