30 year old history repeating in Bihar? Upendra Kushwaha reminded Nitish of the challenge given to Lalu Yadav

Patna: Is the history of three decades ago being repeated in Bihar politics? Has Upendra Kushwaha now stepped on the path that Nitish Kumar had chosen 30 years ago? In fact, these questions are being raised after JDU Parliamentary Board’s National President Upendra Kushwaha claimed his share in the party. Kushwaha is comparing his rebellion with the rebellion of 30 years ago, when Nitish Kumar challenged Lalu Yadav and sought his share in the Janata Dal. Talking to the media in Patna, Upendra Kushwaha said that he has ‘deep respect’ for Nitish Kumar, but Nitish is now unable to take his own decisions. As a result JDU has become weak. Former Union minister Kushwaha said, ‘I was asked to clarify what I meant by claiming my share in the party. I am doing that today. He said, ‘I am talking about the same share that Nitish Kumar had demanded in the 1994 rally, when Lalu Prasad was reluctant to give his due to our leader.’

Upendra Kushwaha was referring to the ‘Luv Kush’ rally organized in Patna, aimed at uniting the Kurmi-Koiri caste people who were left behind in the political dominance of the Yadav caste in Bihar. Nitish Kumar’s presence at the rally set the tone for his breakaway from the undivided Janata Dal and an independent political journey. Let us tell you, Kushwaha returned to JDU in March 2017 after merging his Rashtriya Lok Samata Party.

The post of Chief of the Parliamentary Board tingles: Kushwaha

Kushwaha said that he had no powers as the head of the parliamentary board. He said that this post is a kind of ‘jhunjhuna’. Kushwaha said, ‘I have quit the Rajya Sabha in the past and also quit the Union Council of Ministers… If they feel that these are big privileges for me, then the party can take back all my posts and also the status of the member of the Legislative Council. Can snatch. Kushwaha claimed that unlike in 2013 when the JDU first parted ways with the BJP, “the threat of disintegration is now hanging over our party”.

Nitish Kumar unable to take his decision: Kushwaha

Does Nitish Kumar feel threatened by the rise of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav? Avoiding a direct answer to the question, he said, “I must say that the Chief Minister has been saying in his public statements that all his moves, reuniting with the BJP in 2017, parting ways last year and joining the Grand Alliance and Even the selection of candidates in elections was done at the behest of others…therein lies the problem. He is not able to take his decision. Kushwaha also claimed that the most backward classes were getting disillusioned with the JD(U).

Referring to the attack on his convoy in Bhojpur district on Monday, Kushwaha alleged that the local administration tried to hush up the matter. He sought the personal intervention of the Director General of Police or the Chief Secretary in the matter.
